10 Ways to Maintain High Energy Levels at Workplace

Whether it’s the long working hours, the team, the workload or just the location where you work, there’s always a reason that you feel drained in the office. There are few short term solutions, but they’re not the cure. We always need to look much further so that we maintain high level energy levels in the office.

Here is a list of 10 simple ways in which you can easily change the way you work. By just incorporating a few breaks in your day, exercising and building team morale you can increase your energy levels in no time.

1.    Get Up Early in the Morning
Wake up just 10 minutes earlier in the morning. You’ll be surprised to know that getting a bit earlier can actually increase your day’s productivity. Utilize the extra time in eating your breakfast or walking to work. This little bit extra time can make all the difference, after all you’re not rushing. You’ll be calmer when you arrive at the office, more positive and in the perfect frame of mind to start working.

2.    Workout in the Morning
An early morning workout can set your metabolism right for the rest of the day. The workout in the morning will make you feel refreshed and mentally ready for a highly productive day of work.

3.    Skip the Lift
Start taking the stairs instead of the lift while moving around in the office. Walking up through stairs can get the blooding flowing in your body, giving a little kick to your energy levels.

4.    Walk While You Chat
How many times do you feel afraid of the forced eye contact with your boss? Avoid the pressure of a one-on-one meeting room catch up with walking meetings. Start walking around the block whilst you chat with your boss. Walking meetings are more comfortable, creative and confiding as compared to sit-up session.

5.    Don’t Just Email or Call
Do you need to talk to your co-worker? Why not just get up and go to them directly instead of calling them or sending emails? We agree, it isn’t the best way to increase your productivity, but sometimes it’s just great to go and thank someone for their help. A face-to-face interaction is good to generate happy endorphins and gives you a bit of body exercise.

6.    Take a Full Team Break
Whether you start your day with a tea break or spare some time at the end of the day to cool down, let everyone have a break where they can know each other, relax and share some fun moments at work.

7.    Take Short Breaks
Don’t take long lunch breaks. Instead split your time-outs into five short breaks in the day. If you’re on a tea break, try to have a glass of water or go to the toilet. This way you can feel more refreshed and can be ready to start again.

8.    Keep Everything Healthy
How often do you feel overwhelmed in the office and feel like getting that fizzy drink from the refrigerator? Please stop it today! It might give you a short term personal satisfaction, but you’ll be flat for the rest of the day. Instead binge on a cereal bar or a fruit to keep your energy levels up and running.

9.    Have more Fun
To give an instant mood lift or to just boost everyone’s morale, take few minutes and crack a good joke or send a funny picture online to your co-workers.

10.    Don’t Have Grudges
It can be a little draining when your boss or co-worker is irritated with you. Make sure you start every day a fresh and don’t get tied down by your grudges. Always focus on the positive aspects of work. This can really help you channel your energy into a fruitful direction.
